Darren and I are traveling in South America for two weeks, visiting Argentina , Paraguay , Brazil and Uruguay . Our first stop is Buenos Aires , which we reached via a 10-hour overnight flight from Dallas.
We are on the last full day of our trip through central South America, having arrived in our fourth and final country, Uruguay. It is the smallest Spanish-speaking country in South America, having only about four million inhabitants.
A 12 day journey in June 2009 around Scotland by train made a special mother / 18 year-old daughter trip.
Lauren and I are now in Scotland for 10 days, taking a mother / daughter trip to enjoy the country’s scenery and history the old fashioned way – by train.
Well we are on the road again, this time for a 10 day trip to Ecuador. We flew to Miami on Sunday and then took a four hour flight to Quito, Ecuador. It is the second highest country capital in the world at about 9,500 feet.
Our first stop in Uganda was Entebbe. We spent two days there acclimating to Africa before beginning our safari. While there, we visited a chimp sanctuary and a botanical garden.
We have been in Entebbe, Uganda for the past two days to acclimate to Africa and explore the area around Lake Victoria prior to beginning our National Park / Gorilla safari on Saturday.
The combination of ancient ruins and lazy days on beaches provided the perfect trip back in time for us over New Year’s in 2007.
Now that we’ve been in London for a few days, I thought it would be fun to compare the subway systems of New York and London.
