We are excited to announce that we are planning a new adventure, beginning in January 2012! This journey is called Trekking the Planet. It is a 400-day, around-the-world trip to raise geography education awareness.
Lauren and I are in Panama City on a five day trip to celebrate our December birthdays and completion of her finals.
I love reading guidebooks and use them extensively in trip planning and while on the road. However, they are a pain to travel with since they are bulky and weighty.
The 2,775 mile train journey across Canada provided a great opportunity to experience a wide variety of scenery, from forests laced with lakes and rivers, to wide open prairies to the majesty of the Canadian Rockies.
After 84 hours and about 2,800 miles of train travel we arrived in Vancouver, British Columbia at 8:30 am this morning, about one hour ahead of schedule.
We recently returned from a two week trip to South America, visiting Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It was a tough journey, probably the most adventurous trip in several years that we have taken. I couldn’t help feeling at one point in the trip, however, that maybe I was getting too old for this.
We spent two days viewing Iguazu Falls from both the Brazil and Argentina sides and enjoyed the panorama from each side.
Darren and I are traveling in South America for two weeks, visiting Argentina , Paraguay , Brazil and Uruguay . Our first stop is Buenos Aires , which we reached via a 10-hour overnight flight from Dallas.
It is now just a few weeks before we leave for our two week journey to Argentina, with stops in Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Our passports have been making the rounds the past few weeks, getting the needed visas for the trip.
It is now less than two months before we go to Argentina and surrounding area for two weeks. After much give and take, the itinerary has been finalized.
