We are in Winnipeg, Manitoba for a four hour train stop on our journey from Toronto to Vancouver. This gives us the opportunity to get off the train and see the city.
Why Travel?
We recently returned from a two week trip to South America, visiting Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It was a tough journey, probably the most adventurous trip in several years that we have taken. I couldn’t help feeling at one point in the trip, however, that maybe I was getting too old for this.
South American Tango: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay
For two weeks in March 2010 we sampled the best of central South America, focusing on the countries of Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay.
South America: Uruguay
Uruguay was the last country that we visited during our South American trip. Here we spent time in the historic city of Colonia del Sacramento and in the capital, Montevideo.

We are on the last full day of our trip through central South America, having arrived in our fourth and final country, Uruguay. It is the smallest Spanish-speaking country in South America, having only about four million inhabitants.
Argentina Planning Update: Completing the Itinerary and Hotel Bookings
It is now less than two months before we go to Argentina and surrounding area for two weeks. After much give and take, the itinerary has been finalized.

The planning for this next journey, scheduled for March 2010, is progressing slowly but surely. It is now just four months away and, since the last blog entry on this subject, we have purchased a guidebook and done some Internet research to try to get the itinerary nailed down.
Planning a New Trip to Argentina
We have decided to take our next journey, this time visiting Argentina and surrounding area in March 2010. Having never been there, we are already beginning to plan our time in that part of the world.

Lauren and I are now in Fort William, on the western side of Scotland and a major gateway to the highlands. We spent three days here enjoying the scenery while dodging rain storms.
