Off the Grid in Uganda

  On to Next Post»

Ever wonder what it would be like to be literally “off the grid” in Africa? We spent 10 days in Uganda, including three days in the southwest of the country visiting the Mountain Gorillas. Because of the tall mountains in the area, our phone stopped working. Even when it was working, a call back to the States cost $4.99 per minute!

The video above is an overview – it shows just the highlights. We have posted five additional episodes below.

I just received and viewed the Uncut Mountain Gorilla DVD. Terrific videography; I wish my own efforts could look half as good! I could have watched for longer. The 40 minutes seemed so short as I was immersed in the gorillas. They are so expressive and almost seem to enjoy the humans in their presence. Amazing how close up they come to you, even touching the guide! The terrain and vegetation reminds me of some of ours here in British Columbia, Canada. I will certainly watch this DVD over and over a few times in anticipation of our own live visit coming up in two months time. I can hardly wait! Thanks for making this DVD available!
